A week in Columbus, Ohio

Sunday - travel to Columbus, Ohio. Met Melinda Montgomery, NHMC D&D Club, and airport. Shared shuttle to the hotel. Checked in Room 711. Met up w/ Roy and Theresa, registered and rested a bit. Went to dinner w/ Roy and Theresa at xx Steakhouse. Delicious appetizers: crab cakes, carpaccio. Excellent filets w/ tasty sides of jalapeno scalloped potatoes and cauliflower w/ cheese sauce. T and I had berries for dessert; R had the chocolate volcano cake ala mode. Numerous other D&D folks came in for dinner, including Darlene Adams, Ruby Redington, Sandee Parsons-Ersey, Val Mullen, Linda Krech, Jill Coble, Christine Wolfe.

Monday - field trip to Amish Country and Ohio Oil collection facility,

JuJu and Rita go to London - March 2006

We flew British Airways to London, leaving from Houston on March 6th. The flight was pretty boring, a few so-so movies and crappy airline food. Arrived at Gatwick airport on the morning of the 7th. Seemed like we walked for miles across the terminal to get to passport control and baggage.

Got our tickets for the Gatwick Express (£25) and caught it to Victoria Station. Rita kept jumping every time another train roared past ours. Got a taxi to Bob's place on Bickenhall Street. He fed us - bacon (like Canadian) and eggs. We all just sat around for a while and rested.

Amigo, the Wonder Dog, is the newest addition to Bob's household. He kept Rita and me busy throwing his toys. He also thought that it was a good idea to try to bury his bone in my hair. Ha Ha, very funny, Amigo!
